Returns & Refunds Policy

Consumer guarantees

1. Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 (CGA) and the Fair Trading Act 1986.

You are entitled to a repair, replacement, or refund if a product:

  • Is faulty
  • Is not of acceptable quality
  • Is not fit for its usual purpose
  • Does not match its description or sample

Nothing in this policy limits your rights under New Zealand consumer law.


2. Change-of-mind returns (14 days)

We offer refunds for change-of-mind returns on online purchases, provided that:

  • You contact us within 14 days of receiving your order
  • The item is unused, unwashed, and in original condition
  • All original tags and packaging are intact
  • You provide proof of purchase (order confirmation or receipt)

For hygiene reasons, we cannot accept change-of-mind returns for towels that have been used, washed, or soiled.

Approved change-of-mind returns will be refunded to the original payment method.

For change-of-mind returns, return shipping costs are the customer’s responsibility. Original shipping charges are non-refundable.


3. Faulty, incorrect, or not-as-described items

If your item is faulty, damaged, incorrect, or not as described, you are entitled to a remedy under the Consumer Guarantees Act.

Depending on the issue, we will offer:

  • A refund,
  • A replacement, or
  • A repair (if appropriate)

If the fault is serious, you may choose a refund or replacement.

Where an item is confirmed to be faulty or incorrect, we will cover reasonable return shipping costs or provide a prepaid return option.


4. How to request a return

Please email hello@saltydaze.co.nz within the applicable timeframe with:

  • Your order number
  • A brief description of the issue
  • Photos (if the item is faulty or damaged)

We aim to respond within 2–3 business days.


5. Processing time

Once your return is approved and received:

  • Refunds are processed within 5–10 business days
  • Processing times may vary depending on your payment provider

6. Items not eligible for return

We do not accept returns for:

  • Items returned outside the 14-day window (unless faulty)
  • Used or washed towels (change-of-mind)
  • Damage caused by misuse, neglect, or failure to follow care instructions
  • Normal wear and tear
